Imagine sitting on the couch on a Sunday night, with a glass of wine in one hand and a serving of your favorite pasta in the other, as you binge on your favorite movie or series. Such a peaceful night before work the next morning might sound even better than going out to a restaurant and socializing. If you’re anything like that, we’ve got you.

It could be, because you want to spend some quiet, quality time with your family or because of the pandemic that we hopefully left around the corner, but a night in is always a good idea.

And maybe you’d enjoy cooking yourself some spaghetti and meatballs or making a pizza. But what if you could enjoy true Italian deliciousness without standing over the stove? All you have to do is pour yourself some of that red, and wait for your order to get prepared at the best Italian restaurant NYC.

Some of Our Favorite Dishes That You Have to Try

We stand by the quality and taste of every single dish on our menu. Our dinner and brunch menus are filled with delicious cravings for you to choose from. But to help you enjoy your experience, especially if it’s your first time ordering Italian takeout, we’ve shortlisted some of our favorites.

Capellini

Here’s a pasta we’re sure most of you have seen and moved on because it doesn’t look like the pasta you usually eat. But if you don’t try this one here at Sesamo Restaurant, you’ll be leaving behind an experience in itself.

Much lighter and thinner than the pasta you’re used to, this angel hair pasta is served with jumbo lump crab meat, sauteed with baby arugula and sun-dried tomatoes and tastes delicious. We recommend ordering it with pesto, broccoli and shrimp.

You’ll thank us later!

Gnocchi

Our favorite potato lump dumplings served with chopped tomatoes, basil and mozzarella are a meal in themselves. Wheat flour mixed with cooked potatoes, eggs, cheese, semolina, breadcrumbs and some herbs; can’t you already tell just how amazing this would be?

Go on, give this one a go, it looks so much like pasta, you’d be surprised. But guess what, it’s healthier.

Bresaola

Bresaola is an air-dried beef dish usually served with arugula, pear, balsamic vinaigrette and parmesan cheese. More on the side of a salad or antipasti, the beef in bresaola is cut into thin slices and served at room temperature or slightly cold.

The beef, before preparation, goes through rigid trimming, after which it is rubbed with herbs and spices and allowed to age for some time between a month and three. The end product? Thin, divine, red, and juicy slices of beef.

Pappardelle Alla Bolognese

Another amazing Italian dish, the pappardelle alla bolognese is served with classic country meat sauce. To make the meat sauce, you can cook the vegetables like carrots, onions and celery on medium heat in olive oil and then add the meat and eventually wine. Cook this and add your seasoning and tomato sauce.

Cook for a little bit and once the sauce is cooked, add milk or butter and let it simmer.

The sauce requires some onions, celery and carrots to be cooked in extra virgin olive oil till they turn brown and then

Now all that’s left to do is mix the pappardelle with ragu and serve it hot with freshly grated parmesan cheese.

You’ll find some variations across different restaurants and that’s how a chef makes a traditional dish, their own.

Spaghetti

This one is always a fan favorite, no matter where you go. Eat it at the restaurant, or order two servings as takeaway. A good mouthful of spaghetti cooked with shrimp, calamari, mussels and clams, tomatoes, white wine and pepperoncini will make you devour the whole plate by yourself.

You can get a serving of meatballs to go with your spaghetti and make it even more ravishing.
