Classic Eggnog

Classic Eggnog

No Christmas celebration is ever complete without eggnog. A creamy mixture of eggs, cream, vanilla extract, nutmeg, cinnamon and of course a whisk of rum or whiskey.

Here are some easy steps to follow:

  • Mix milk, nutmeg, vanilla extract and cinnamon in a pot on low heat.
  • Mix egg yolks with sugar separately. Once whisked, slowly add hot milk to the yolk mixture (not all at once) and whisk.
  • Cook the mixture on medium heat without boiling it.
  • Remove from heat and combine with cream and liquor of choice.
  • Refrigerate for a few hours and serve chilled.

Peppermint Bark

Peppermint Bark

Who doesn’t love chocolate? But what’s better than one chocolate? That’s right! Two. This is why this candy is our absolute favorite. A double-layered dark and white chocolate base with sprinkles of candy cane. Here’s what you got to do!

  • Melt your dark chocolate in the microwave or stovetop. As it melts, add peppermint extract to the chocolate and stir.
  • Place the melted chocolate on parchment paper (on the baking tray) and refrigerate to set.
  • While your dark chocolate sets, melt the next layer of white chocolate and pour it over the semi-solid dark chocolate. Sprinkle with candy canes and refrigerate.
  • In about 20 minutes, you should have yourself some delicious peppermint bark.

Gingerbread Cookies

Gingerbread Cookies

This one’s got the true Christmas spirit. With every house that has a lit-up tree in its foyer, there has to be a gingerbread basket on your kitchen counter. And we’ve got the perfect recipe to make the most scrumptious ginger people for your ginger fort.

  • Start by combining butter, brown sugar and molasses, beat them with a hand mixture. Once fluffy, add eggs and extracts.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk dry powders( flour, spices, baking soda, salt). Using a mixer, combine the dry ingredients with the wet while adding ginger, orange zest and any other seasoning you might enjoy.
  • Now it’s time to refrigerate your dough. Divide it into smaller parts, wrap them in plastic wrap and allow to chill for a few hours.
  • Once chilled, you can start rolling your dough into thin layers, use your gingerbread cutters to cut the dough and send ’em over to the baking tray.
  • Bake till they become puffy (10 minutes) and allow to cool.
  • Now, it’s time for you and your kids to start icing!

Gingerbread Eggnog
