Our approach

Not fusion.
A rewrite of the rules.

Every dish is built from scratch and finished with fire — where classic Italian technique meets unapologetic Asian flavor. Think creamy risotto with Thai basil and lemongrass. Hand-rolled pasta with Szechuan heat. Slow-braised meats kissed with XO sauce.

Who we are

Made by people who came from somewhere else.

We came from Beijing and St. Petersburg, found each other in New York, and ended up on the far west side of Hell’s Kitchen with an idea. Sabrina runs the wine program. Nikita keeps everything else running. Neither of us grew up eating Sunday gravy — but we fell in love with Italian food the way only outsiders can. Completely, and without reservation. Sesamo is our answer to a neighborhood that took us in on one condition: show up honestly and add something real. We’re still working on it. We hope you feel that when you walk through the door.

Week 2 of The Sesamo Table. Joseph and Will have Week 2 of The Sesamo Table.

Joseph and Will have been coming to Sesamo together since nearly the beginning. They share a table, they share a life — and they have never once agreed on how spicy the chicken parm should be.
This week, we stopped making them choose.

Introducing Tempura Chicken Parm: Yin & Yang. 

Yin — for Will. Classic, crispy, exactly as he loves it.

Yang — for Joseph. Calabrian chili, Tian Sien chili 🌶️, crispy tempura crust, mozzarella. 🔥

It’s not the room. It’s not even the food.
It’s James, who started coming in because he was dating someone in Hell’s Kitchen — and never stopped. It’s the fact that he orders chicken parm every time, but told us once that when the weather gets warm, he wants something lighter. Something with bok choy.
So next week, we made something for him.
Introducing The Sesamo Table — a weekly dish made in honor of one of our own.
